What the test is, in plain terms

California's Clean Truck Check program requires periodic emissions testing for most non-gasoline vehicles over 14,000 lbs GVWR. Depending on the truck, that means an onboard diagnostics (OBD) check, a smoke-opacity test, or both.

We run the test where your trucks already are and handle the paperwork side of the visit with you.

A test shows how a truck performed on the day it was tested. Booking a test does not by itself make a vehicle compliant, and a truck that doesn't pass may need repairs before it can be retested.

Which trucks need Clean Truck Check testing?

The program covers most non-gasoline vehicles with a GVWR over 14,000 lbs that operate in California. CARB's Clean Truck Check site has the official rules for your vehicle, and we're happy to talk through your situation.

Can you come to my location?

Yes. Testing is done at your yard, shop or other site with safe space to work. Tell us where your trucks are when you request testing.

What should I have ready?

The trucks to be tested, keys and access, and the vehicle details we ask for when we confirm your visit. We'll send a short checklist before the appointment.

How do partner referral fees work?

Partners earn $25–$30 for each referred truck we complete testing on. The exact fee and payment terms are set in a written partner agreement before referrals begin.

What if a truck doesn't pass?

We'll explain the result before we leave. A truck that doesn't pass usually needs repair work before it can be retested. We don't promise a particular result.
